North Island! Part 1

Off to the North Island for the week! We left Westport after I was done with work on Thursday so we could jump on the ferry in Picton on Friday morning. We stayed at a motor lodge in Blenheim that the girls liked, because they had a giant TV in their room. They have never been ready in the morning faster.

Chocolate making with the Chocolate Lady!!!!!

(such a fun experience-everyone got to melt chocolate (white, milk and dark!), add colours, flavors (lu was the queen of peppermint!) and/or lollies (she had so many candies out...marshmallows, M&Ms, jelly beans, gummies, oreos! There were lots that made it into candies but even more that made it into mouths!), and then poured into molds.

(We are spending the weekend with our lovely friends Deb and Honk, who even let us all stay at their gorgeous house and have been feeding us and entertaining us. Deb and I met while I was working here, you may recall that they hosted the hug a ginger day party. Fabulous people all around.)
